Has Adventure Pilot ever considered setting up their app for NMEA data connections over WiFi?  If this were enabled, you could use something like this:

to allow the iFly app running on an iPad or other mobile device to drive an autopilot, which would be a first among mobile device apps.  I'd buy into that in a heartbeat.

Hi! I am intrigued by this device, my question is my 740 already (has) Wi-Fi, but truthfully, I have NO idea what that mean, is it Receiving Wi-Fi, or Broadcasting Wi-Fi, or both, but if it is receiving only, that device by Broadcasting Wi-FI, would indead be a step up, because now, the IFly software on my windows 10 tablet, would be driven simualtaly by the 740, wich I always thought was a waste of GPS capability, woud be nice to have ALL your devices on the same source, but like I say, I have no idea to know if this is impossible/possible.

Thank Mr Aerial Simian

Ciao

It means your device can send and receive information to and from other devices connected to the same WIFI network.

From my recollection when designing the Trio ProPilot installation kit for the PA28-32, the FAA would not allow wifi interface to the autopilot.  But that would be for certificated aircraft only. I use the 740 to drive my autopilot.

Yeah, I asked because my airplane is VFR-only experimental.  smiley
