If I recall correctly, the Bad Elf press release stated that the ADS-B would not be built if the Kickstarter campaign didn't reach its goal.
Have you considered building one yourself? A "Stratux" is very easy to build - just plug the pieces together and power it up. The software is open source (free). The parts for the simplest weather receiver are around $100. Add WAAS GPS (it's not necessary if your device has its own GPS) for another $15. I've built a few, and they all have worked as well at picking up weather and traffic as my SkyRadar DX. The Stratux is easily expandable to dual band, and the developers are currently working to add AHRS. The surge of people building Stratux boxes may well be the reason for the sagging interest in a top quality/entry level Bad Elf ADS-B for $300.
