True, but the switch is a $40 dollar part that is fairly easy to install so not a big deal.

Some solutions don't require a pressure switch. The Avidyne IFD540 GPS uses speed/altitude data to determine when the aircraft is airborne, and can provide that status to a compatible Avidyne ADSB-out transponder (AXP340).

Cobra,

Does the Aspen already have its STC? I am surprised that there would be any difference in installation requirements between the King 74 and the Avidyne transponder since both King and Avidyne transponders use the same Trig 31 components. Also note that the Avidyne transponder is about $1000 more than the King for essentially same component.

I'm not trying to be an Avidyne salesperson here. I was just pointing out to the previous poster that a pressure switch is not 100% required as he claimed.
